The thinking power and capacity of judgment which are now fully awakened in the growing 16/17 year boy and girl demand food for thought and an outlet for action in tasks which can be accomplished only by reason and logic. The relationship which an adolescent forms consciously and freely with his surroundings demands a constant contact with practical life with achievements of modern technique. The rich and versatile life of the adolescent needs to be satisfied by pondering over human and environmental problems, which will be introduced and discussed in the lessons, for every one sided judgment leads into a blind alley. To overcome these difficulties in the modern age and the surging life of feeling in the students, they will be taught science, art, music, movement, in an experiential manner.
The Engines and Boat Building lesson will integrate various aspects of internal combustion engines, boat building, games into the learning process, enabling the adolescent to understand the rich diversity of land and river formations in the world. Topics which will be covered will include trigonometry, two/four stroke internal combustion engines, star constellations/planetary bodies, use of various hand/electrical tools/GPS instruments and other technical equipment. The teachers will bring this understanding with imagination, enthusiasm and scientific reasoning to the students to enliven the learning process and make them active contributors to society, in later life. This program will require the students and student teachers to fully participate in all the sessions and will have to apply themselves to the various tasks with keen interest .
